Bradford Systems Breathes New Life Into Grant Thornton Offices

Following our successful installation of Spacesaver high-density filing systems in its Midtown Manhattan office, the company invited us to do the same for its Chicago headquarters. Working with Grant Thornton’s project managers and A&D team, we designed a network of Spacesaver high-density shelving systems and stationary shelving across the four-story office and storage space.

Thanks to Spacesaver’s universally slotted shelving, Grant Thornton can easily add and change components, including full- height bin dividers, bin fronts, file dividers, drawers, doors, etc., which allows the company to adapt to the future and continue to grow.

Another important solution to Grant Thornton’s storage and file management needs came in the form of modular casework from Hamilton Casework Solutions. The Bradford Systems team installed a customized arrangement of casework, including utility workrooms, day lockers, and copy and mail centers throughout its four floors. Hamilton Casework Solutions is recognized around the world for its modular and flexible casework, and it also offers a unique tax advantage, as it can be depreciated over seven years, rather than 32 years or more.

New Hire Announcement: Welcome, Rick Dore!

Bradford Systems Corporation is pleased to welcome Rick Dore to our team as a Casework Specialist. Rick brings over 20 years of experience planning, delivering, and implementing successful casework/millwork projects by consistently providing clients creative solutions for integrated workspaces and storage systems in healthcare, education, laboratory, and commercial environments.

Along with Rick comes the distribution rights for TMI Casework. Founded in 1969, TMI is the nation’s largest manufacturer of laminate casework with extensive experience providing fixed modular, flexible rail-mounted, mobile and custom casework, as well as architectural woodwork.

With these strategic initiatives, Bradford Systems Corporation furthers its leadership position in Chicagoland by adding manufactured casework and architectural woodwork to our portfolio of client services that includes high quality storage, modular casework, furniture and asset tracking systems. Get to Know Rick Dore:

How did you arrive at Bradford Systems?

Dave and I were roommates in College. I worked for Bradford Systems (on the installation end) while in college and for a short time after graduation. I’ve always liked that they represented the best manufacturer in their respective industry (Spacesaver), and yet didn’t rely on that to be successful. We’ve talked many times about my coming back in a sales role, but the fit wasn’t quite right until now. The addition of TMI gives Bradford Systems and myself another industry leader to represent.

What are your strengths as a Casework Specialist?

I listen well and understand that each situation is unique. I am great at problem solving, finding solutions, and meeting client needs.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

Professionally, I’ve been representing companies that provide portions of the entire project. I enjoy being a part in helping my clients complete their projects successfully. Using my creativity to find solutions is very satisfying.

What are you passionate about personally?

Family, creating in the kitchen, repurposing/reinventing items, golf (although passionate about golf, my skill level necessitates my being very creative). I also volunteer as a Tutor in the Austin area of Chicago. You stay with one student from K – 12 or for however long they’re in the program. It gives you the opportunity to go beyond helping them with school to more of a mentor type situation. So rewarding.
